Day one
A beginners look at the simplified approach to painting through the “value” system. - Keynote presentation of paintings that will inspire and speak to the lesson of the day. - A discussion about the essential paintings tools - paint, brushes and supports. - The simple finish to the simple start. - Seeing objects as simplified shapes. - What to look for in order to simplify the concept of “value” painting. - A word about brush work - How to develop gestural or impressionistic hand. - Developing a critical eye for observation.

Participants will paint from the simple still life arrangement in order to create works based on the days objectives.
Day two
A beginners look at the simplified approach to becoming a colorist painter. - Keynote presentation of paintings that will inspire and speak to the lesson of the day. - The painterly idea and brush work. - The primary colors. - How relating big differences in objects becomes the foundation for the colorist painter. - The mindset or thinking in color. - Mixing paint/color. - Keeping the process of constructing a painting a simplified matter from start to finish.
